Fluker Post Project

Permanent fixed-point photography is an established technique for documenting ecological change and is an exciting way to raise awareness and provide the wider community with an opportunity to contribute valuable visual data. Established in 2009, the Fluker Post Project, facilitates the establishment of photo-points for public use, and provides an online viewing platform for citizen-submitted images.

Fluker Posts have been installed at four locations along the estuary, covering each of the three tidal wetland types present along the kanamaluka / Tamar estuary: freshwater wetlands, Melaleuca ericifolia, and saltmarsh. With the help of the community, these Fluker Posts will provide a collection of imagery that may be used to assess changes over time including erosion and broad changes in vegetation cover and species composition.
